October 2026

  1. 1.1.2086iPhone
    • Closed a crash that could take the app down as it moved to the background.

    • An expanding task card now opens in one movement. Its "Open Project" link grows with the card instead of appearing once the card has finished and shoving everything below it down, and the bottom row with the date and reminder no longer slides into place a beat late.

    • The month divider in Upcoming now says "This Month" for the month you are in, so a list running "Next Week" and then a month name no longer reads as though next week belonged to the previous one.

    • Jump straight to a pane with Option and a letter: Option-I for Inbox, Option-T for Today, Option-U for Upcoming.
    • Deleting a recurring task now takes the whole series with it, including the occurrences already sitting in your lists, rather than leaving them behind with nothing to explain them.

    • "Open Project" now appears as a task card opens in Upcoming, growing with it, instead of arriving a beat after the card has finished expanding.

    • The Today widget now rolls over to the new day by itself. When iOS does not get around to refreshing it at midnight, it shows the new day's tasks and habits instead of asking you to open Ritual.

    • A Stronger alarm set for a later day now stays a Stronger alarm all the way to the moment it rings, instead of quietly turning into an ordinary reminder while it waits.
    • Ritual is steadier around routine Live Activities: starting or updating one can no longer take the app down with it.

    • Upcoming can now be filtered by project. Pick one or more projects to see just their work, or pick "No project" to see only the loose scheduled tasks. It combines with the tag filter, and the count beside the filter icon covers both.
    • An expanded task in Upcoming now keeps its "Open Project" link clear of the card instead of letting the card come down over it.
    • Opening Ritual now always asks the Today widget to rebuild, so a widget that went quiet overnight refreshes when you open the app.

    • Deleting a project now asks what should happen to its tasks: keep them, or delete them with the project. Completed tasks always stay in your Logbook either way.
    • On the Mac, deleting a recurring task now clears the whole series, including the occurrences already sitting in Today and Upcoming.
